The Kelowna-Lake Country Riding Association invites you to join us for the Okanagan Regional Policy Development Conference. The conference features special guest, the Honourable Ralph Goodale, Member of Parliament for Wascana, Deputy Liberal Leader, and former Finance Minister.
Taking place August 17-19, 2012 at the Best Western Kelowna, this conference is designed to bring Liberals together to the Okanagan to share ideas and draft policies that the whole region can throw its weight behind at the provincial and national conventions. This year’s topic is Economic Policy.
There will be the opportunity to participate in two workshops of your choice, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Our four main topics of discussion are: taxation (corporate and income taxes),trade (foreign and inter-provincial), infrastructure (rural and urban), and human capital (immigration and domestic). Four sessions will run at the same time in either the morning or afternoon on each topic focusing on the subtopics denoted in italics. Space is limited to 25 people per session, so please sign up quickly to get your top choice!
The purpose of this conference is to develop sound policies to bring forward to the rest of the Party. But you don’t have to be a policy wizard to participate! One of the greatest strengths of the Liberal Party has always been its ability to draw inspiration from the diverse tapestry that makes up the Canadian people and we need you!
This is an exciting chance to meet other Liberals from the Okanagan and to discover what it truly means to be a Liberal in the West.

There will also be a free public forum on Friday, August 17th as well as a formal dinner reception on August 18, 2012 hosted by MP Ralph Goodale, who single-handedly received more than half of the Liberal votes cast in Saskatchewan in the 2011 election. Tickets for this event will be sold separately from the conference and will be priced at $100.00 per plate for a wonderful evening full of good food, good music, and good people.
